A quick update to let you know that I am trying to finish up the mixing & mastering of my latest Studio Album Moonscapes by the end of the week. My projected release date for the album is Monday, May 25th – the anniversary of JFK’s famous speech before Congress where he first proposed to put a man on the Moon. Stay tuned for a free preview of the album & some fan exclusives to go along with the release.
My friend, Joanne Gabriel, has inspired me to experiment with creating sounds with my guitar. As such, I sat down last weekend & recorded a bunch of songs using regular household spoons as the main method of strumming the strings on my guitar. I played around with a bunch of effects in Jeskola Buzz & was able to create some really otherworldly & spacey tones. After recording these songs, I had this sudden brainstorm to release them as an EP.
So now I’m working on post production for two projects. My Moonscapes project which is the result of my FAWM 2015 creativity & now this new EP that I’ve entitled Cuillères Intergalactiques. I’m hoping to finish up the post-production on the EP this weekend, which will leave me a lot of time to concentrate on the post-production of Moonscapes. But until I release them, you can listen to the demos on my FAWM page. Leave me a comment, either on my FAWM page if you are a fellow FAWMer, or in the form below. Let me know your thoughts on the Moonscapes demos or your thoughts on experimenting with sounds. Share your outlandish sound creation experiments, or any other crazy thought that might inspire someone else.
Musicians & people who surround them are a very community minded bunch. Not only do bands & artists promote humanitarian & social causes, but they also try their best to help each other out. A true spirit of kinship is shared amongst musicians – no matter what instrument they play or what genre of music they write or perform. Most musicians are a caring bunch of people. Here are some examples of this: tour support; cross promotion; bands & artists covering & remixing songs & most notably when artists & bands collaborate with each other.
For a few years now, the Candle Blog could be found at various sites all over the internet. There has never been one central place where the Blog could be consistantly updated – until now. Welcome to the new home of Candle’s Blog, where you will find all the latest news, thoughts & other information regarding Candle’s Music.
The creation of this Blog corresponds with the release of Candle’s fourth studio album, Chromatics – which has physical copies finally available on Candle’s ReverbNation store.
