On the horizon…

FLOG Volume 8; Issue 1

Ee ghad…  It has been almost a year since anything Musical has been brought forth from my muse.  And FAWM 2018 is just over the horizon so now my mind is turning back to musical pursuits.  I wonder, will my Muse follow?

Experimenting with the base frequencies of musical notes looms high on my inspirations at the moment.  Also, there’s this project inspired by the great Captain Vulpine!’s song Dirge For A Mutinous Philosopher which I really want to explore as well.

So many possibilities & only 28 days of FAWMing…  I guess we’ll have to see what comes of it…

Review: Argentavis Exponential by Captain Vulpine!

The mad genius that is Captain Vulpine! returns to haunt your dreams & waking moments with more tales of debauchery, woe, sea shanties & even a demon being released from the Pale.  Argentavis Exponential is the third album from this maverick Portland songwriter (well, under this pseudonym anyway…).  Written as part of the 2015 edition of February Album Writing Month, Argentavis Exponential drags the listener into the Captain’s wild world.

Some Good Things Coming Soon…

Yesterday was spent performing & recording a new video project inspired by the greatly misunderstood German Philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche.  The Good Four takes its name from an aphorism presented in Nietzsche’s 1881 book entittled The Dawn.  The video is over an hour & a half long & features songs from across Candle’s repitoire as well as a number of brand new improvisations.  The performance was captured via webcam.

Post production work will commence on the video shortly.  However, here is a sneek peak at the new video.  This brand new song is called Alhambra At Dusk & is a live improvisation recorded during The Good Four sessions.
